At IBC booth 7.E21, DVS sends clear signals to broadcasters.

The first release of VENICE showcases the latest development of the new video server from DVS. With its new features like four independent channel pairs, run-down lists, comfortable presets and support of AVC-Intra, VENICE is positioned as the core of a distribution environment.

Hanover/Amsterdam. From September 11th to 15th, DVS will present the latest features of its VENICE video server, introducing a product line especially suited for the broadcast market. VENICE provides fast, consistent workflows with compressed video formats. Different data formats can be converted and distributed in production environments on-the-fly. DVS’s multi-channel video server also supports parallel processing of SD and HD material.

By supporting all common compressed formats such as Avid DNxHD®, as well as the XDCAM® and the DVCPRO® families, essential MXF variants can be used easily and securely in file-based workflows and then distributed in the production environment. By supporting the formats AVC-Intra 50 and 100 VENICE allows for easy and comfortable handling of material from Panasonic cameras.

The remote GUI is an efficient and effective tool: users can control the video server from their own desks, conveniently coordinating the server jobs. The remote-capable user interface is available for Windows®, Mac® und Linux®.

With the play lists or run-down lists users can freely define the sequence of their clips, save them and load them into VENICE for further processing.

Intelligent presets for further processing are also at hand creating a smooth and comfortable operation. Re-running settings can be called upon immediately. With VENICE, now all users within a facility can use material quickly and efficiently.

The VENICE broadcast video server captures data directly from cameras, tape recorders, P2 cards or professional discs. Material can be accessed and processed directly with multiple editing systems. At IBC 2009 VENICE provides four independent video channel pairs for ingest and play-out.
