At IBC 09 DVS will introduce an extended support for with its flagship product CLIPSTER®

By supporting ARRIFLEX D-21’s ARRIRAW format CLIPSTER® expands its format diversity and offers additional flexibility. Combining the D-21 RAW material with other data and video formats enables users to freely design their workflows.

Hanover/Amsterdam. At IBC 2009 DVS expands CLIPSTER’s fields of application in the areas of post production, film and broadcast. DVS’s flagship product now also supports real-time workflows with “.Ari” RAW data material originating from the ARRIFLEX D-21. The CLIPSTER® DI workstation now offers real-time decoding and debayering of the ARRIRAW data in full 2K quality.

ARRIRAW material from the D-21 camera can be directly displayed, edited and played out in CLIPSTER’s timeline. CLIPSTER’s new integrated hardware allows for real-time decoding of the D-21 data. The film data can be edited immediately using CLIPSTER’s easy-to-use conforming tool.

The third generation CLIPSTER® adds real-time processes like scaling, primary color correction, cropping and 3D LUT color management to the processing of ARRIFLEX D-21 RAW material, thus enabling an efficient DI workflow with ARRIRAW content. Moreover, high-quality digital deliverables originating from the ARRIRAW data are created in high-speed. The ARRIFLEX D-21 and CLIPSTER® combined are an incredibly flexible data handling workflow.

Adrian Widera, Strategic and Business Development at ARRI: “We have found a very reliable and innovative partner in DVS – for many years now. The technical realisation always works at first go, which also showed when CLIPSTER® supported ARRIRAW. Our customers take advantage of the integrated ARRIRAW solutions and can now enjoy the joint benefits of ARRI’s and DVS’s systems.”

Bernhard Reitz, Head of Product Management at DVS: “We are delighted that our year-long successful cooperation with ARRI continues with DVS’s support of the ARRIFLEX D-21. Our joint solution addresses the specific needs and requirements of our post production customers: CLIPSTER’s support of the ARRIFLEX D-21 ARRIRAW format gives our customers an added level of choice and guarantees exceptional performance in their DI process.”
